Since 1963
Six decades of Golden Retrievers, three English imports, and one bloodline that changed everything.
Our first Golden was purchased in 1963. This fluffy dark golden puppy became Aust Ch Carwoola Sherry Lee CD, and following her came Aust Ch Alinig Golden Orlando CD.
Aust Ch Kyvalley Charming CD became Goldtreve’s foundation bitch. ‘Charm’ came from Mr R. H. Philp’s Kyvalley Kennels — if anyone is lucky enough to own Roy Burnell’s book Gundogs for Field and Trial, it features Fred with Charm retrieving in the field. We were fortunate to have another two lovely bitches from Bob Philp, both full sisters to Charming.
Over the years Goldtreve imported three Goldens from the United Kingdom to infuse new blood into our Australian lines, which proved very successful. Our ideal Golden was Eng Ch Camrose Cabus Christopher, and Joan Tudor of Camrose fame was kind enough to send Christopher semen to Australia in 1976.
Our first litter by Christopher arrived in 1979 — three males and three females. All three males went on to gain their Australian Championship titles. Over the years Christopher sired three litters for Goldtreve, resulting in seven Champions, one of them a Grand Champion.
We are thrilled that, after twenty-eight years, Christopher semen was sent back to Joan Tudor and a litter of nine puppies resulted from a mating to Camrose Xellent Tearose. This is a world record that will go down in Golden Retriever history books, and we are proud to have played a part in it. Camrose Time to Return, retained by Joan, gained his Junior Warrant and his UK Championship title.
Goldtreve has been fortunate enough to breed back to Christopher and so keep the lovely type we love so much. We hope in the near future to once again produce more Christopher children. His story continues on our tribute page.

Goldtreve is a small, select kennel in the Hills District of Sydney. Our Golden Retrievers and Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen are reared with love in our home and go to carefully chosen families. Litters are planned occasionally, so we welcome early enquiries from those who would like to be considered.
Parents are fully health-tested and every puppy leaves us registered, vaccinated, vet-checked and microchipped.
